Bike Ride
nick green day nine home!
Day nine
After completing their
bike ride to Land's End the team came home to their club and were warmly
welcomed by the Commodore Ron Gibb.
Day
eight
Hi all, completed todays
cycle, staying in Bodmin tonight. Very hard days cycle, came across
Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. I think it was a challenging as the Highlands.
Only 70 miles to the finish, hopefully finish between 5 & 6 pm.
Day Seven Hi all, made it to Taunton today. Hard cycle, head wind all the way
and it's getting stronger. Camping tonight.
Day six
Hi all, had a nice day for most of it, lovely
flat smooth roads with hardly any hills. Made it to Worcester today.
Nearly home!
Day five
Hi all, made it to Blackburn today, weather is horrible! Hopefully it
will be better tomorrow and we can get some big miles in.
Day
four
Hi all, day 4 complete. 115 miles done. Camping the lake district tonight.
Staying near Kendal. Hope to make Blackburn tomorrow.
Day three
Hi all didn't have a great day, rain all day and the route we were going
to take had 3 closed roads and a long diversion. We cycled a fair way but
only made 60 miles progress towards Lands End. Staying in Dumfries
tonight.
Day two
Hi all, good days cycling. Done 130 miles today. Camping 15
miles NE of Stirling.
Day one
Cycled 107 miles today, overnight stay 10 miles North of
Inverness. Sore Legs!
The reason for
this is that the CADET section is going to continue to grow over the
coming years and a new boat would give us the working life expectancy of
15 years and would save us draining money into old second hand boats. A
new RIB, complete with economical 4 stroke engine is £12000.
The sailing club
committee has been able to put £6000 towards the new boat. This is where I
come in!!
AIM
To raise £6000 or more to go towards the new RIB. Just how am I going to
do that???
HOW
By cycling 1617 KM (1010 miles) in 9 days.
From John O Groats to Lands end.
Starting on the 1st September
I will be cycling with two other people to help me keep pace and my
sanity.
How can you Help?
I also need some help reaching the
target of £6000. Your help will be making a huge difference not only to
those who are at cadets at the moment but those who will join 5 years down
the line. Please pass this sponsorship form onto as many people as you can
and help me reach the target. Please make any cheques payable to Torpoint
Mosquito sailing club and send them to:
