WRECK RACE – Sat 16 Aug
NOTICE OF RACE
Ø A friendly race between TMSC and the RNSA is planned for Saturday 16 August 08. The race will be combined with the TMSC WRECK RACE and will be sailed under PY handicap in a single Division / Class. Yachts are to fly the burgee of the Club that they are representing in lieu of a class pennant.
Ø The start / finish is the TMSC line just south of the Torpoint Ferry.
Ø The course is from the start, leaving Drakes Island to starboard (no racing through the Bridges!) leave the James Egan Lane Wreck Buoy in Whitsand Bay (50o19.55N 004o14.90W) to port, Drakes Island to port and finish.
Ø First warning signal will be at 1125 for a start at 1130.

Ø Standard TMSC race instructions posted on TMSC website (tmsc.org.uk) will apply; if in doubt call TMSC Race Control on VHF # 37 (M1). The time limit is 1800. If the leading yacht finishes, the race is valid for all others who finish within time limit or 30 mins of leading yacht’s elapsed time.
Ø There will be no entry fee! All comers from each club are welcome. Please advise Jamie Watts (TMSC) or Tim Burne (RNSA) if you intend to compete, if berthing is required and, for catering, numbers of crew for the BBQ.
Ø Yachts that are not registered with the Port of Plymouth Hon Handicapper (porthandicapper@ppsa.org.uk) will be given a temporary and arbitrary “Club” handicap for the race by the Race Committee whose decision is final.
Ø Scoring will be a LOW SCORE system: 1st=1, 2nd=2, 3rd=3 etc. The total number of points scored by a team will be divided by the number of competitors in that team. The team with the lowest score is the winner. In the event of a tie, the club with the winning yacht (on handicap) shall be deemed to have won the match. Any protests are to be submitted on the back of a (non-returnable) new £50 note.
A trophy will be awarded at TMSC on completion of the race.
