Coronavirus - Message from the Commodore

Published 19:35 on 20 Mar 2020

20th March 2020, 1900hours

Good evening. Many of you will have now heard the PM's announcement about the closure of pubs, clubs and restaurants. We have been in discussion amongst club management with a view to taking this socially responsible step ourselves but Boris beat us to it! The club will therefore close from the end of this evening until further notice. This closure includes Kilby's restaurant however Dave's current plan is to do takeaway Sunday lunches this weekend at least, please keep in touch with Dave for details. Sorry but we have not yet found a solution to takeaway Tribute or Korev.

We have also regretfully decided to cancel all cadets, training, activity registrations, and organised racing. Members may of course sail casually at their risk. Steve and Dee will keep their sections up to date but at this point we are still proposing to do yacht lift in if Karl is happy.

Neville will still be our man on site for security and maintenance purposes and we are looking at arrangements to support our other staff, including the government's schemes announced earlier this evening.

We will use facebook, our website and emails to keep you up to date and of course these restrictions will only last as long as needed.

Once again, my very best wishes to you and your families for your health and wellbeing.

Bob Wilkey
