Commodore's Letter

Dear Members
I trust you all had a magical Christmas. I would like to take this opportunity both personally and on behalf of our officers, committee and staff, to wish you and your families a very happy, healthy and successful 2025.
This last year has been one of great sailing and activity out on the water. This is core to TMSC and our strategy puts being successful, well run sailing club with good facilities at its focus. However, we have had much to deal with. The Tamar Lounge and kitchen had a major, essential refurbishment putting a dent in our coffers. We do warmly welcome Trish and Rob Newcombe who have taken the club catering in hand, doing exceptionally well in their first months and wish them every success in the coming years.
Social events have been well supported, our social sec and her band of merry helpers have worked hard to bring us a varied and packed program of entertainment to the club.
Earlier this year Nev Griffiths retired after 28 years as our steward. We paid tribute to his loyalty and service on the occasion but it is good to see him enjoying his retirement.
We welcomed Bobbi Wheeler to be our new steward and she has certainly got off to a cracking start with fresh ideas and marketing the club to its full potential. We wish her continued success and a long stay at TMSC.
So, having said all that, all thats left is to invite you all to Commodores Drinks on Saturday 1st February 2025. This is a Black Tie event from 19.00hrs onwards with entertainment from four amazing Marine musicians followed by DJ Keith. An excellent opportunity for you to dress up, have a drink - and take the opportunity to renew your membership! Trish at the Tamar Lounge will be putting on an appropriate dinner to make the occasion extra special.
Very best wishes
